1. Why are you personally on social media?
Social Media is a great way to connect with people and institutions from around the world. I use it not only to network with people I know, but also with people who I share interests with, but would not have met otherwise. It’s a great way to learn and engage and also share pictures of our museum collections. It is great to see what others have shared too!
2. Why did your museum registered for MuseumWeek
The museum is no longer a place that intimidates, its more open, communicative and reachable thanks to social media. We joined MuseumWeek because its a great way for us to connect with museum-lovers all over the world and be inspired by other participating museums. It brings so much life and energy to the museum sector – to have so many people participate, and we’re excited to highlight our collection with the themes specified. We have some of the best women artists of India being showcased in our contemporary collection too, and we’re hoping to share them with the world! Would be great to see how these everyday-themes are represented and interpreted at museums.
